Most ShihPoos are half Poodle and half Shihtzu. ShihPoos bred at B & T Pups are mostly ShihTzu with a minimal amount of Poodle. More Shihtzu than Poodle has proven to be a great mix. Most of our pups are anywhere from 80-95% ShihTzu and a small amount of Poodle. This is how we've chosen to breed these pups. They will look like a ShihTzu, but also have health and intelligence benefits from the small amount of Poodle. These pups are super intelligent. This is achieved by breeding a 2nd or 3rd general ShihPoo female with a full ShihTzu male. I always tell my potential parents exactly what they are getting because some people do prefer half and half.

All pups are CKC registered and have their first shots and wormed up til 8 weeks. They will have a folder with all of the information at pickup including a paper for the vet which includes everything done to the puppy before they go to their forever families. They also get a stuffed animal and blanket with mom and siblings' scent to help with the transition.
Short term immediate warranty-when you get your puppy your are advised to take to the vet for their 9-10 week shots. At that point, if the vet sees something we cannot see or hear and it is life threatening, you will be able to get another pup of same breed.
The pups' major organs are warrantied for the first year as long as the owner does their part with appropriate and timely vet visits for shots and checkups. See contract for more information. Please ask if you have more questions on this topic.
These particular dogs tend to stay around 10 lbs give or take a lb or 2 in either direction. On occasion, there may be one, especially males, that could be 12-15 lbs. On the other end, many or our pups don't quite reach 10 lbs. It varies pup to pup.
ShihPoos generally follow the same vaccination schedule recommended for most puppies. Your veterinarian may adjust the timing based on your puppy's health, lifestyle, and local disease risks.
